Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef

The world's largest coral reef system stretches over 2,300 km along the Queensland coast. Snorkelling and diving here reveal an incredible variety of marine life and colourful coral. Day trips and liveaboard cruises depart from Cairns and Port Douglas. A UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Sydney Opera House

Sydney Opera House

An icon of modern architecture and Sydney's harbour. The building hosts opera, ballet, theatre and concerts, and guided tours take you inside. The surrounding area includes the Royal Botanic Garden and Circular Quay, with ferries to Manly and other harbour spots. Best seen from the water or from Mrs Macquarie's Chair at sunset.

Uluru

Uluru (Ayers Rock)

This massive sandstone monolith in the Red Centre is sacred to the Anangu people and a powerful natural landmark. Sunrise and sunset bring dramatic colour changes. Respect local culture by not climbing; instead, join guided walks and learn about the stories and history of the area. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a UNESCO site.

Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains

Just west of Sydney, the Blue Mountains offer eucalyptus-covered valleys, waterfalls and lookouts such as Echo Point and the Three Sisters. Scenic World's cableway and railway provide easy access to the valley. Bushwalking, climbing and small towns like Katoomba make it ideal for a day trip or a short stay.
